Gold-filled is an economical alternative to solid gold. By law, it has 1/20th by weight layer of 14 karat gold permanently bonded over a core of base metal. Keep your jewelry dry. Apply makeup and hairspray before putting on your jewelry.
Always take off your jewelry before showering, swimming or if you know you will be sweating a lot.
After each wear, gently wipe each piece of jewelry clean of make up and skin oils with a jewelry polishing cloth.
The best way to store your jewelry is in air-tight plastic baggies. Never keep your jewelry in the bathroom as humidity is the enemy.
